Print/Graphic Design - Hypothetical Event

This series relies solely on typography to advertise a hypothetical presentation by Margaret Atwood in which she discusses the effects of human innovation. Rather than approaching the subject from a dystopic point of view, as is typical of many of her novels, I decided to present this event in a way that depicts the future from a positive aspect to emphasize her discussion of how conscious human decisions can result in a positive future.

This design project was produced as one of my class projects for my Typography 1 class using solely Adobe Illustrator. One of the project’s constraints was to avoid any use of icons or distinct imagery. The design was meant to utilize only typography and abstract shapes. I first designed the poster by using a futuristic color scheme and a sense of movement to reflect the themes of Atwood’s novels. I then created design variations for other promotional products, such as the flyer and the button pin, while keeping the brand recognizable.
