An umbrella hat made out of natural materials.
The end product of a single day challenge to make a useful product using natural materials. Hands are the best tools, therefore no man-made tools or objects were used for the same.
Process
Nature is the biggest inspiration. Designers as problem solvers, needs to observe nature and learn from it, the basic concept of bio-mimicry.
This leaf does not allow water to pass through, if you stand underneath it, you won't get wet during rains.
Coconut leaves are amazing material with a lot of potential
Started with the base of the product, Using two different kinds of leaves, the inner and outer layers were made using method of weaving to make it more stable and useful.
Climbers were used for the head gear.
Made strings out of a flexible material found hanging from a tree. The strands were braided together to form strings. The strings were then added to the head gear.
An umbrella hat- stable, light to use and comfortable on the head.
